Major contributions to the early careers of excellent researchers

  • S. Avanesyan (PhD in 1987 from Moscow State University) was awarded the Lenin Comsomol Prize in Science and Technology in the USSR in 1988 and the Presidential Award from the Armenian Academy of Sciences in 1994. For the last 20 years, he has conducted research in the USA.
  • V. Tournat (best PhD of 2003, Le Mans University) received the Yves Rocard Prize from the French Acoustical Society (year's best PhD) in 2004. He defended his Certification in 2009 and became a Senior CNRS Research Scientist in 2014. Since 2010, he has been an Associate Editor for "Nonlinear acoustics" in Acta Acustica, which merged with Acustica. For his research achievements, he was awarded the CNRS Bronze Medal in 2011 and a Silver Whistle (early career award) at the 2013 International Congress on Ultrasonics.
  • My former PhD students H. Baillet, S. Job, G. Penelet, C. Inserra and A. Merkel hold academic positions respectively at the University of Poitiers, University Paris-Saclay, Le Mans University, University Lyon 1 and University of Lorraine, while T. Pezeril (PhD, 2005) and S. Mezil (PhD, 2012) are both CNRS researchers. My former PhD student Xinxin Guo received Prix Yves Rocard of French Acoustical Society (2022).
  • C. Li, my former post-doctoral researcher, received the Marie-Sklodowska-Curie Fellowship of the European Commission (2022-2024).
  • S. Raetz, Assistant Professor in our team for 10 years, was awarded Junior Prize of the international Photoacoustic and Photothermal Association (2024) and Silver Whistle of the International Congress on Ultrasonics (2025).
